Ms. Sarah - Kindergarten - Layered Excitement

Ms. Sarah’s class met this project with curiosity and enthusiasm. Each student created a one-of-a-kind Gel print. Gel plate printing, also referred to as Gelli printing, is a monoprinting technique where acrylic paint is applied to a Gelli plate, manipulated, and transferred onto paper. Students created textures by adding and subtracting acrylic paint with recycled or found materials.

Just like the first graders that made them!  Each student in Ms. Mills' class made one (or more!) of these pom poms, which were then tied together on strings, and finally assembled into a mobile. Enjoy this Pom Pom Mobile Extravaganza in your yard hanging from a tree, in your kiddos room, or anywhere you want some fun. Enjoy!

Dimensions: 2-foot circumference and 4 foot length.

Ms. Yorde - 1st Grade - Changed

First grade has been a year of great change for our kids.  Sometimes it has been turbulent and hard.  Sometimes it has been beautiful and moving.  Every time it has propelled us forward into a brighter future.  Changed began with each child choosing three colors of paint to scrape down a small page.  That page was then changed into a butterfly and assembled in this beautiful rainbow symbolizing the promise of a limitless future ahead.  They are Changed.  We are Changed.  The world will be Changed.

2/3 Grade - Ms. Stump - Montlake Salmons

What is Montlake school’s favorite animal besides the wolf?! The salmon of course (well, perhaps cats and dogs too). The salmon life cycle is all the rage at Montlake elementary and this piece combines a meaningful element of the school year + the creativity and the enthusiasm they feel when raising and releasing their very own salmon. These colorful fish would be thrilled to make their way upstream to adorn a wall in your home.  There is only one so buy as many raffle tickets as possible to improve your odds! Support your child and Montlake elementary school & win this cheery piece for your family. Laser-cut fish on 160lb card-stock, watercolor, foam adhesive, Pottery Barn shadowbox frame,

2/3 Grade - Ms. Margaret - Tray of Hearts

The artistic students of Teacher Margaret's 2nd/3rd class carefully crafted this rustic masterpiece.  A wooden tray filled with white clay hearts with clear glaze has been personally stamped with words of love by every student.  From "slay" to "joy", you can hang this Room 303 masterpiece in your home.

Ms. Podney - 4th Grade - Gummy Bear Confections

Don't miss out on this Halloween favorite. Young and old, the gummy bear brings back fun nostalgic childhood memories for so many. Students were bouncing here, there, and everywhere mixing alcohol ink and resin before pouring the mixture into a mold. Gloves were necessary for this sticky process and the finished product looks just like the cute squishy edible ones. Hang this pop art piece in your child's bedroom, your office, or another part of your home that will bring joy and remind you of the carefree child within.

Mr. Marshall - 5th Grade - POM POM Party. Let's Go!

Bedazzle your walls with these textile orbs assembled by the creative minds of Mr. Marshall’s fifth-grade class, now in the final month of their final year at the magical place that is Montlake. The fifth-graders wrapped yarn around their hands, then folded, tied and cut it, creating custom pom-poms of varying sizes and colors for their abstract and heavily textured masterpiece. A celebration of their time at Montlake, art, creativity, individuality and shared commonalities, "Pom-Pom Party. Let's Go!" also serves as a reminder of their friendships and amazing experiences at Montlake. Plus, it just looks cool and could prevent an injury if someone were to run into the exact spot on the wall where it’s hanging. Hey, you never know.
