Students are now officially entered in the bus roster for the Activity Bus and you should see the rides appear in the Zum app starting October 9th.
Loading the Bus
For those in enrichment classes, instructors will have pick-up information for the students in their classes. The students who will be taking the Activity Bus will be brought to the cafeteria to meet the onsite coordinator. The onsite coordinator will then load the students onto the bus.
For students enrolled in Launch, the Launch staff will load the students onto the Activity Bus.
Activity Bus Stops
Your student's bus stop will most likely be different from their regular bus stop. Your student was assigned a stop according to their home address. You will receive a letter from SPS Transportation indicating your student’s new bus schedule with the bus stop information. You will also receive an email shortly with your student’s bus stop information. And, when the rides appear in the Zum app most likely on the evening of October 8th, your student’s bus stop will be noted.
For those who rode the Activity Bus last year, you will notice that the stop near the school (E McGraw St @ 20th Ave E) has moved to E Lynn St @ 19th Ave E. Most students who were at the stop near school last year are now at the E Lynn St @ 19th Ave E stop. A few were assigned to 25th Ave E @ E Louisa St, however. Please check carefully to know your student’s stop this year. Email enrichment@montlakepta.org if you need to change your assigned stop.
Be advised that, for the past month, the Activity Bus has been arriving later than scheduled. For the most accurate information, please track the bus on the Zum app. If your student is on a tight schedule, it is best to pick them up at school. Also note that if the bus runs early, the arrival time will not be updated in the Zum app. Please watch the progress of the bus on the map to determine arrival time.
The Activity Bus will follow the schedules below. A range is given for the arrival time at each stop, as the bus arrival times will vary by day. The largest number of students ride the bus on Mondays and Thursdays so the bus will be later those days. On Tuesdays and Fridays, the bus will be slightly earlier because there are fewer riders.

Changes or Absences
If you need to make any long-term changes to your student's schedule, please email enrichment@montlakepta.org and Launch (if enrolled in Launch). We will help you make those changes and provide refunds/make charges as needed.
If you need to change your student's pick-up plans for just a day (or a few days), please email enrichcoordinator@montlakepta.org (and emma.pruett@launchlearning.org only if enrolled in Launch) with the details of the change. Please email any changes by 1:00 pm that day. After 1:00 pm, please call Emma or the onsite coordinator at (503) 468-6125.
For the days that your student is scheduled to ride the Activity Bus, your student is no longer on the roster for the regular afternoon bus. If you would like for your student to take the regular bus home after school instead of staying for enrichment classes or Launch, please include montlake.attendance@seattleschools.org in your email message. This way, a yellow card can be prepared to give the driver so your student can ride their regular bus home.
If your child is absent, email montlake.attendance@seattleschools.org by 8:30 am and include enrichcoordinator@montlakepta.org so we know your student will not be at enrichment class or on the Activity Bus that day.
Behavior on the Activity Bus
The same behavior expectations for school hold for riding the Activity Bus. If there are ongoing behavioral issues on the bus, it may result in the student being removed from the bus temporarily or for the remainder of the session. If you have concerns about your student's behavior on the bus, please email enrichcoordinator@montlakepta.org. They will work with the student and the bus driver to support your student and help them succeed.
The behavior expectations for the bus and the enrichment program are outlined in a behavior plan. Please read through that plan with your student.
Any questions? Email enrichment@montlakepta.org.
